Exasperation

strands of falling hair

grasp the light of the land,

skin yearning to snare colour

but instead it crawls

with the marks of leather belts,

steel springs lodged into my spine.

breathing heavily

stomach churning

nausea, I retch,

torn apart

I am a paperweight

sinking without purpose.

Have I said enough?
